Just beat Mass Effect 3. Sigh.

This whole backlog thing is falling apart. For those of you that don't know yet, I have been putting all of my old material onto this new[er] site. But I have been arranging it so that it appears to have been added when it was originally made. In other words, some stupid 2008 cartoon will be listed as a 2008 blog entry, even though the blog didn't exist until 2011.

I was doing this so that the updates page mirrored the videos page, but I now feel that that is ineffective and misleading.

Backlog Plans

Since I first made the site, I have been posting videos. When I started the backlog recently, I was forced to make changed to existing posts in order to iron out mistakes. Well, I finished doing that. This means that every time I want to backlog something now, it takes far longer than before.

The point? To keep from going crazy, I am going to begin backlogging only one video a day (unless I feel cheery). At the end of the week, I'll post an update listing what has been backlogged.

I just finished backlogging and remastering all the cartoons on the site, new and old. This took quite a while, because I could not make a decision on how to include the very old things that make up newer compilations. Also, I briefly was backlogging in chronological order. In any case, check them out! I suppose Audiosplice is up next.

Backlog Update

So, I'm still working on the backlogging crap. I've reorganized my entire external hard drive, mainly the videos section. I then scoured every... single... mofoing... folder... for misplaced content. I found A LOT. Tons of forgotten vids resurfaced from the depths of YouTube hell to rear their nonsensical, esoteric heads.

Most of it was total junk, and inspired me to make the new Video Graveyard. It's a section of the site that with brief blurbs about the vids that won't make the cut for this site. Maybe they had a home on YouTube in the past, but they are gone now.

A few days ago, I rechecked the registry of "mechatomic.com," which has been held by a squatter for the last five years. The domain registration was due to expire on Monday, but was renewed by the squatter. Basically, this meant that I needed a new URL name. I decided on "Airleak Attack."

Before I register it, I am going to backlog all of my videos from YouTube. At the moment, I am undecided as to whether I should drop "Mechatomic Island" all together, or say "AirleakAttack.com presents a Mechatomic Island production." I'll figure it out soon, but a 3rd name change would be really damn annoying. To both myself and the few followers I have.

Since I am backlogging the newly remastered versions of old videos, it may look like I am inactive for a short time.

EDIT: After taking a poll among my friends and family, I received unanimous support of the name "Mechatomic Island." So, I suppose there will be no name change, but I still have to think of a URL that uses Mechatomic in it. I feel like mechatomicisland.com would be too long, but most people point out that a different URL and name is confusing. So, I'll probably go with mechatomicisland.com.

Since the 2011 Japanese tsunami and nuclear disasters occurred, my site name and logo have led to several misconceptions. Due to various connotations associated with these, I have renamed and reedited everything. Due to this, the site is temporarily down ... until I can redo all the links, thumbnails, etc. Oddly, this is also the one month anniversary of the site's first video posting. The new name shall be Mechatomic Island.

This is the day that I became very devoted to the creation of a site. It was heavily modeled after Quacksilver, so I didn't have to much to do in terms of design. Eventually, I moved away from copying my bro, and tried to do some things of my own. Initially, all the banners had pictures of Godzilla, the link page was called "Lunch Menu of the Undead," and there were no videos ready to post. I chose the name "Grimatomic," and a color scheme of red and green. Not much happened with the site, because to begin posting my old videos, I had to do a massive reorganization campaign on my laptop.

YouTube Origins

Today is the day that I joined Youtube as user "KillerPikmin." I would go on to use the channel for nearly two years before getting creatively frustrated with the limitations of the site and moving here. It wasn't until September that I began to post videos. Many of them, at first, were unoriginal things such as songs or television clips. I eventually decided against such postings, and focused on using KillerPikmin as a creative outlet.

In fact, I often began turning to the website in times of boredom or depression. If I started a video, it became my life. And this bizarre addiction-esque approach led my friends to the term "YouTube Hole." As in, "Andrew just crawled out of his YouTube hole." Or "I've been in my YouTube Hole."
