About MechAtomic Island
MechAtomic Island is a web based creative outlet for myself, Andrew.
I've spent most of my life creatively collaborating with my twin brother, who's name is Alex. We have created comic books, movies, riffs, books, art, music, and other crap. Recently, and by recently I mean 2009, we began posting videos on YouTube. For two years, we enjoyed our stay, but have both officially renounced our channels. There were various reasons for this. Mainly, it involved copyright strikes and dissatisfaction with content controllability.
Alex moved from his YouTube channel to Quacksilver Films, and I came here. Our collaborative efforts are a bit in limbo for the moment, mainly because we can't decide on a cool enough name. (Sort of).
Initially, I chose the name "GrimAtomic Productions," but, shortly afterward, the 2011 Japanese tsunami and nuclear disasters occurred. This led to multiple people linking the name to the events, and by extension the logo to the imperialistic Japanese flag. These were both unintentional connotations that I did not want. Eventually, I switched to "MechAtomic Island" and changed the logo to blue. The old logo can be seen below.
While posting on YouTube, most of my material consisted of "creative edits," because I had no video camera. This means that I basically created videos by editing clips of movies, TV shows, and other things. All of my old YouTube videos will all eventually resurface here, on this site, in some form or another. New things will show up too, I guess.
